So a while back my idrive would power on at idle but if i press the accelerator pedel it would cut off. I left the car sit bc a transmission malfuntion and now the idrive will not do anything. I have checked all the fuses i have checked the two modules under the glove box. The radio powers on but just to what seems to be a weather band. Im lost i really know nothing about idrive. 2008 bmw 528xi

 

You need to read the DTC codes.

 

Because the iDrive cut out when you pressed the accelerator, I'd suggest that the problem is either voltage-related (with the extra RPM contributing to slightly higher voltage) or mechanically intermittent (my stronger suggestion). The slight rotation / movement of the engine and the wiring harnesses associated could explain the issue. If so, the best thing would be to look at all of the relevant wiring harnesses / plugs and remove / inspect / clean (as necessary) and re-seat them, and see if it helps.
