Anyone know if its possible to Manually update the iDrive software? I called the dealer, they want 4 hours to update the firmware @ $125/hr. Thought I would throw this out there.

Thanks
Mike

No way to do it yourself, either find an indy specialist or agree a capped rate with the dealer (UK dealers I spoke to will cap it at 2 hrs)

Find a local BMW specialist with a GT-1 and get them to do it.

Why Do you need a Idrive software update any how? You don't list your car and short of a 535i that is having the turbos/HPFP/wastegate/lag issue, usually most idrive updates short of the mp3 stuff you will never notice.

As far as I've been reading, this is something better left to a dealer, in case there are download problems.

I want to throw the ipod interface in the glovebox, but in order to do this, you need update the software to recognize MP3. I got a 2006 530i with Sport package. Black on black.
