After work on friday, I stoped at CVS, when parked the pulled out the keys, walked out, and turned back and noticedthe iDrive is still on... came back from CVS, turned on the car, came home, and parked my car again, it turned off.
What was that about anyway, BTW thanks for the tip with the DVD/CD

My Ride: my ride which i just bought is 2005 530i with all the fruit cept no tv or dvd GRR haha :)
hey hello guys wonder if any of yas can help me out here....my idrive and cd player not working AT ALL just started my car and nothing is happening radio not working even pdc nothing is coming up on the idrive screen or no music ...anyone know the problem or something ? or has my idrive just died ?

I have had similar problems with freezing I-drive. Battery change did nothing. How can I check what is the current software version? Can it be checked from hidden menu?

My Ride: 2006 530dAT
My I-drive froze too. The dealer tried to fix it with new CIP-versions a couple of times. However, in the end they had to give in and change the hardware. Never had the problem since.

ok after 2 days of the idrive not working and nothing coming up on the screen it decided to work today!! and theres a msg coming up saying " head unit not installed properly" or something like that and i got a msg saying battery voltage to high,but thats gone now that comes up sometiems as well...but now i drive is freezing alot while playing music and it is lagging alot HMMMMZZZZZ
