Now, a new issue today......
IDrive screen is back to BLANK.... DARK SCREEN
The knob feels NO RESISTANCE...
So my guess is that the whole idrive is NOT working(I can't even hear the sound you report coming from DVD which I definitely heard yesterday)...
BUT BUT BUT, a new message popped out today directly in the dashboard: it represents a car sitting on a kind of elevator. Now, my 2 questionss:
- what's this symbol for ?
- How come this message pops up although idrive seems dead ?
Dealer told me driving remained "safe". can't believe this, and my car will be in first thing next morniiing definitely !!!!!
Any ideas for the icon ?

However, you have a good dealer there. Seems they have some enthusiasts working for them, because this info is probably from reading internet forums, such as ours.
Safe or not, you paid enough money for the car to have it WITH audio.
Hope all the electonics is just not out of order !!!!

This symbol means: Service! So, finally your car tells you it needs to be checked by the dealer.
In your i-menu you can check those check-control messages and if you look at it, it will tell you: visit the dealer immediately!
You do have a bigger problem!
