Dels550i

The switch in the center console the idrive controller lights up but does nothing on the screen buttons do not do anything nor the dial.. sorry for the lack of correct terminology I'm new to this car. 09 550i. I've checked fuses actually all of them in the trunk and glove box literally tested every one of them. found 2 blown not connected though. likely the switch or the control box for the switch>? I do have a few light module codes a8ae 9cb1 and 9cbc but I do not see a correlation. any help or advice would be appreciated.
