After having the car for 6 weeks I have figured out that all of the i drive discussion is non sense. Doesn't matter if it is better or worse that the old way with all of the buttons. In 99% of my driving now never touch it. Adjust climate with the "auto" button and the radio with the steering wheel knobs. As a matter of fact in my wife's Excursion - has all of the old buttons and the same thing - just use the steering wheel buttons.
I know there are things you need to do with the idrive or other buttons, but for the most part - who cares
just my thoughts - and makes me wonder even more why the true car experts make such a big deal out of it - they should know better.

When I use the iDrive, 90% of time is for NAV system. Every time I scroll down each page and input each alphabet for city/street addresses, that is when I think BMW should make a better iDrive system.
Other than that, iDrive is fine.
