A black car has to be cared for a lot. But I think it's well worth it.

The problem is that you see washing your car as work, try and think of it as an act of meditation for the soul.

Well, at least thats what try and tell myself every time I have to drag out the FREAKING bucket, hose, wax and towels .........................breath in...................breath out.............hummmmmmmmmm .

I had a jet black M3. That car owned my Saturdays and I almost killed people trying to get home to my gargae before rain storms...

Living in Portland requires that I wash my black 50 about once a week...

Someone want to trade me their white '06 or better?

C'mon... I only have 28,000 miles!

I do feel your pain. I have Carbon Black and it is a PITA. I can't imagine Jet Black.

+1.

If you are looking for the easier color to keep looking clean it is not white -- it's Titanium Silver. My Titanium Silver 540i Sport was a lot easier to keep looking clean than my Carbon Black 550i Sport. Titanium silver was my first choice again (because it is so much easier to care for) but I was looking for a 2009 in dealer stock and could not locate a titanium silver 2009 550i Sport with the options I wanted -- the leftover ones in that color were either too stripped and lacking my must have options (Logic 7 for one) or too equipped with thousands of dollars in options I didn't want to pay for (ventilated seats which I would not want to pay $3K for although some on this board love them). So I found the car with the options I wanted but it was in Carbon Black -- a beautiful and totally unique color that takes a lot of work to keep clean. So now me and the local by hand carwash that I've used for years will be becoming better friends than ever.

Alpine white is a very good looking color but not one of my own top choices.
