I-pod Interface or Aux Input
I have an appointment to have the i-pod interface installed. I currently have both the cd changer and the aux input, does anyone know for sure if they will have to disconnect one or both in order to get the interface???
In talking with the parts mgr. he said I should be able to have all 3, but also said I should check with the tech to be sure (didn't have time to wait for tech to ask).

According to my service rep the aux input does not yield quality audio. He advised me against doing it.
The audio sound with the aux input was about the same to me. I just had to turn the volume up louder. I have read if you get the monster cable charger it runs off of the ipods bus, instead of the 1/8 jack, and provides better sound. It is definetly esier to navigate artist, and tracks on the idrive. It is still a bit of a distraction though. Hope this helps.
I thought I read that there was a mod where a resistor was removed to boost the 0dB sound level.
Ahhh... here it is http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=23293
But anyway, it's only MP3.

I have done this on my E60, and truthfully there is not much discernable difference.
Furthermore, the reason the sound quality sucks so badly on the AUX input is because of noise inducement... which is not helped by removing the resistors.
