Just noticed this. The first pic of part of your steering wheel looks like a M-Wheel whilst your other pics reveal it is the sports steering wheel, have you already changed it?

That's the wheel that comes with the sports package. Haven't changed it. Yet.....

Congrats!!!!! I noticed the wheel too. The first pic looks like nicer leather wrap???

Have you tried out a blue tooth phone...Has to be one of the best features if you're a commuter.
I'd go with tint and wheels for the first mods.

The BlueTooth works great, love it. Any reccomendations on the tint? I tinted the windows in my lexus, and it broke the NAV.

Not sure anymore...I thought I had a great tint job with high quality film until I started wearing polarized sun-glasses. Now I can see the rainbow effect other members were talking about!!!

I know you guys are going to jump on this comment, but I think the automatic transmission is awesome. It seems like it?s always in the right gear. Maybe I?ll get a manual on the next one, but for this one the Steptronic is just right for me.

One question- they said to ?take it easy? for the first 1200 miles. Can someone define easy? I was able to drive it down to San Diego (250 Mile round trip) on Wendsday, came back yesterday. Got it moving to 90MPH. Haven?t been over 5000RPM?s (ok, maybe a few times ). Is that considered a good break in?

Man I totally feel you on the steptronic thing. I never really liked automatics and had a very hard time deciding between the manual and step. But if you think about it the 550i, or any e60 5 series at that, were built to cruise, well at least it is to me. I didn't get this car to race, that's what the ///Ms are for, this car I can sit back and relax (finally got a fav position after adjusting it about 72,000 times!) and enjoy the ride. The steptronic has really grown on me and you are correct about the way it just knows what gear you want to be in. It's always right there when you need it and don't have to wait for it to downshift or anything, it's so intelligent!

As for the break in, I had always thought to take it easy for the first whatever miles, but that's the old school thinking. Nowadays you can just start it up and just DRIVE without having to worry about anything. And since I'm leasing my car I'm pretty much covered for good.

Santa been bery bery good to ju.

Now, make a some notes about the steps you had to take and the lease-signing duplicity, and be prepared to unload on the BMWNA rep who will call you to ask how delivery went. That kind of crap belongs on a used-car lot, not a BMW showroom, and trust me, BMWNA will make your voice heard.

Good luck and have fun,
Ray Hull

I got my call from BMWNA last night. I went through the whole thinng with them, they seemed to take good notes. They were particlarly interested in the note I read from my sales rep (came in the mail yesterday) "thanking me in advance for all 5's on the customer satisfaction survey".

Not sure why they expected 5's on the "clearly explained financial details" section considering they spent an hour trying to pack 2 grand into my lease.

The car is great though.

Thanks everyone. I'm fired up.
where should I start with mods?
Nice car, congrats

Please do not do other mods than get you a OEM set of 19" wheels,
with non RF tyres.
Or even better - no mods at all!

Ps. Your avatar...it really is you, isn't...compared the the rearview mirrow pic :'(

I really dig the interior! If they had one on the lot I probably would have opted for that over the Black on Black that I got. I'm loving mine so far! Congrats!
