My Ride: 2007 550i - Monaco Blue with Auburn Interior. Sport, auto. Ordered 10-30-06

I picked up my 550 Tuesday night (the wait felt like forever). After re-negotiating the price- they had "forgot" the discount we agreed to before I ordered the car. When they remembered, they "forgot" the right way to calculate the lease... After 90 minutes of grinding we got back to the right place and I signed the deal. Not the greatest buying experience, but whatever....
After that, it's been awesome. I love this car. I can't believe the way it drives. All the technology is amazing, and it?s been flawless. It?s like nothing I?ve ever driven. All the negative press around the I-Drive is way overblown. I?m coming off a Lexus, and I had thought that I may be taking a step back in sound system, but the Logic 7 is great.
Overall the level of sophistication and design excellence in this car is amazing. It?s built to drive aggressively. I was concerned about the color combo since I had never seen one like this, but I love it. Everyone comments on the Auburn.
I know you guys are going to jump on this comment, but I think the automatic transmission is awesome. It seems like it?s always in the right gear. Maybe I?ll get a manual on the next one, but for this one the Steptronic is just right for me.
One question- they said to ?take it easy? for the first 1200 miles. Can someone define easy? I was able to drive it down to San Diego (250 Mile round trip) on Wendsday, came back yesterday. Got it moving to 90MPH. Haven?t been over 5000RPM?s (ok, maybe a few times
). Is that considered a good break in?
I?m going to spend some time in the manuals this weekend. I want to learn everything there is to learn from a feature function standpoint.
I?ll post a full review and comparison to the Lexus GS after I?ve had another week or so to really get comfortable with the car.
We had some rain this morning- so the car is a little wet in the pics.

Congrats! Very nice!
As for the running in; just go easy on the breaks for a while. The discs tend to crack when you cane them when new.
Apart from that just use as normal I'd say. (Although I'm sure many would disagree with me here.)

Awsome Ride!
I am a little biased, but I think it's the best color combination for the 550. Good luck with your ride, I hope you love it at much as I do mine.
