Default i-drive screen is white, bad screen?

04' 530i, I had INPA connected and started the engine, and idrive screen went white with some thin flickering lines toward the bottom. everything works, CD, radio, door chime, but the screen won't reset after the 3-button reset, after disconnecting the battery, after driving around, after having car locked overnight. I'm thinking it has to do with me starting the engine while in INPA cuz that's exactly when it happened. I wasn't in any screen or communication settings though, I was in functional jobs. I'm betting the CCC is fine and I need to replace the screen, any thoughts?

solved! removed the screen via the 2 torx screws, disconnected the 2 wires, turned on ignition, turned off ignition, reconnected the 2 wires, turned on ignition, screen works flawlessly. sometimes disconnecting and reconnecting something fixes it.

ha, can't believe that worked - nice job.

Never had the screen do that - however I've already replaced my idrive/CIC unit once, and now the new/used one is going bad.
