I-drive problems(blank screen)

My Idrive just locks, when I start the car it is just black, radio doesn't work but my bluetooth connects but I cant make or receive a call. What ever button I push I can't do anything. But the cars run. And next time I start, it is working ok. This will be my second time brining my car to the dealer for the idrive problem. The first time I got it fixed the dealer said they had to update the software, and now its happening again

How about your buttons in your steering wheel system settings, where it id's your screen off/on? I have hit my a few times by mistake and drawing a blank idrive screen! then I can bring it back up by hitting a button on my steering wheel settings.
Hope this helps, dont know if thats what wrong with our or not, but I know it can be a pain in the A?! at times!!
