The key fob has to be programmed to match your VIN, car features, etc. I wouldn't even trust a dedicated BMW independent shop for that. Better to play it safe.
!A neighbor has one and his dog ate the key fob ... $203 list at the dealer - discounted = $165

I second this one. I took my Toyota in once to get a new tire at Pepboys. I was riding on my spare when I showed up. They took my spare off and tried to put it back under the car for me. It sits ona chain/hook and you crank it to get it up nice and tight under the car. Those idiots over-cranked it and now the thing is busted. Now I have to carry my spare tire in my trunk! Stupid idiots !
