hes in California, so autozone couldnt scan his car there anyways. its illegal in CA for autoparts stores to scan cars if they dont have a shop (like pepboys does), only sell you the scanner. plus although some people who work there can be ASE certified, i wouldnt go there asking them about an modern BMW. shit, we barely know everything about them, and were fanatics, let alone someone working there.

but man did you not test around the idrive controller? or see the check engine light? or did you just see a shiny BMW with a low price tag and just got it thinking it could be fixed.

the service engine light just came on recently, I've had the car since Aug. Initially the I-Drive was not working properly when I test drove, the owner's wife/co-owner was aware of the problem, she determined that it needed to be fixed, the dealer has been giving me the run around about paying for half the cost, as no warranty, I explained to him the warranty doesn't cover a problem that exists prior to making the purchase, and the warranty has nothing to do with a known existing problem, that he should cover the repair, he never called me back, so now it's one more call to him to take care of the problem or I will have to take him to small claims court, just bs from a non-certified bmw dealer
