Seeing the pictures of white cars here in forum - love them, espcially with a nice set of rims etc.

Seeing white cars in real life, not convinced. Maybe its just the light / intensity of the sun here in Germany, but somehow they don't look that special and often look dull/plain - there are exceptions ofcourse. Black BMWs typically always look good IMHO, so for me its the safer bet over here.

Based upon your posts. I suggest the Alpine White. It definitely highlights the beautiful contours of the body and is more unique. It looks spectacular with the cream leather interior and black rubber mats.

I am having second thoughts about my selection of Carbon Black on my new 550 Sport and I may go with Space Gray.

... But I dont think it will look good in UK with the $hity weather over there.
He is in Toronto Canada so the weather is different from the UK.

Toronto is the most beautiful city in North America so it is fitting that he carefully selects a beautiful color.

I am on my second alpine white BMW in a row....they're awfully hard to beat.

I agree with the poster above that White is the new Black.

Thank you for the compliment, only wish we had less traffic cops reside by the highways. I have many firends in Chicago and enjoyed that city very much. I was born in HK and know the intensity and passion of really nice cars there.

I am very surprised AW goes down so well here with our group.
From the beginning my tug of war has been if I should go back to the same space grey/silver grey. Grey is absolutely stunning on the BMW.
Luv the monaco blue but not too much on the ocean blue.
Needs convincing on going for black, whichever black. Cause they are absolutely gorgeous but too common on the road.
Then I saw pmmeke's AW here, especially with my preferred interior of CB & 172 19". Delicious.

I still want the red/cinammon/auburn interior! The Munich people cancelled it.

The fight is not over, please keep comments flowing.

White is the trendy color right now, after some years nobody wants it (sorry white E60 drivers).

Black is a trendless and always a stylish choice.

Hard the keep clean, though.

Dude you are CRAZY to get black living in TO or any snowy place for that matter. I own a black car and live in Arizona where we have 350 days of sunshine and nonetheless the car has been a BIAATCH to keep clean and nice looking to the point it pissed me off each day when I see it get dirty one day after a wash.

I know from living in Edmonton and TO before-or any of those climates, with all that slush and dirt in the winter months your car will look like SHIITT v. a white car will still look great even when dirty-you just do not see it as much and if you do it just doesnt take away from the car as much as it does on a black.

Trussst me-I always wanted a white car but was not available to me-and it is true-NOTHING looks hotter than a shiny black bimmer but the problem is it only stays that way for about 6 hours after cleaning it so the window is short. It is a love-hate with black forsure

I was totally against white cars. I was totally against getting a 5 in white until......I saw one live. BAM! It was beautiful. The lines of the car just popped and it looked like a big mean machine. Bought my LCI '08 in Alpine white and have loved every second of it. Long and the short: don't base your decision on photos, go see one that has been detailed. I would have never thought in a million that I'd buy a white car, and now I can't believe I almost didn't. Keep in mind though, black or white, the car will be stunning.

If you're really after an auburn look, have you checked out the Natural Brown interior, which is effectively the LCI successor to Auburn - check this beauty out:
(I'm sure e60scotland won't mind me showing pictures of "beastie"!)

I am stuck on colour (black or white), please advice.-naturalbrown_carbon.jpg

I favor black way, way, way over white. I just got my black Z06 back from my detailer. It is absolutely gorgeous. Would I buy another black car. No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, not unless I wanted to pay a detailer for daily detailing. As Ipsie Dixit, as I recall, once said: "Black is not a color; it's a hobby." And, another friend of mine says he loved his black car, but didn't need a part time job. Get SILVER.
