I am stuck on colour (black or white), please advice.
I've never seen an AW in person when I ordered my car and I was really nervous about the look of it during that waiting period before the car arrived. But once I saw my car in the dealership, BAMBAMBAM, I love it and I still love it now.
You can always come to one of our meet to see if you like it. I think we have 3 Alpine White here in TO who's also on this forum and we also have a Carbon Black that attend our meet too.

My last 5 series was an '03 530i sport, alpine white with sand beige interior. The windows were tinted and the car had the BBS wheels supplied in the sport package. That car was beautiful.
When I ordered my '08 535i, I really wanted another alpine white 5 series, but did not feel the e60 looked as good in white as the e39. I ordered sapphire black with creme beige.
I have only recently seen the beauty of the e60 in alpine white, thanks to this forum. I now think that an e60 with alpine white, creme beige, light or dark poplar, or anthracite bamboo would be beautiful. I think the key is to have 32% tint on the glass, and some "bling" in the wheels.
The bottom line, however, is that you will not go wrong either way.

White is the trendy color right now, after some years nobody wants it (sorry white E60 drivers).
Black is a trendless and always a stylish choice.
Hard the keep clean, though.

It might be "trendless" if you're driving a Model T, but colors have come a long way since Henry Ford said "you can have a car in any color you want, so long as its black".
Look on ebay....how many white cars do you see for sale in the high end stuff - not many. But black cars are a dime a dozen. If you keep your car immaculate, the market for a pre-owned white car is quite large. I sold my alpine white 740iL in 2 days.
Besides, most design concept teams work with white cars, as it allows them to study the lines of the car with more clarity. The lines of the E60 pop in white.
I'm certainly biased, but even so....its tought to beat a white car.
And whoever said "black cars are a hobby" is right. Too much work...

I favor black way, way, way over white. I just got my black Z06 back from my detailer. It is absolutely gorgeous. Would I buy another black car. No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, not unless I wanted to pay a detailer for daily detailing. As Ipsie Dixit, as I recall, once said: "Black is not a color; it's a hobby." And, another friend of mine says he loved his black car, but didn't need a part time job. Get SILVER.
Needless to say, black and I need a little time apart. The 535 I have ordered will be another color.

there is no such thing as a clean black car.
The 1st time when you get the car from the dealer
