I'm finding that when the sun is behind me to the left, there's a purple line that apears within the HUD image. It's very prominent and distracting. Has anyone else seen this and if so, what's the cause/solution?

Thanks

Not had any wash outs, lines or obscuring yet, but have not had car long enough to be out in all sunny conditions. However, one of my more frequent conditions is with sun to left and slightly behind. No issues noted. I believe my slope and viewing position is somewhat different. I like mine better than my test drives with HUD in 5 series (note I am in a 6er).

Or turn around and drive the other way.

We discussed the purple line a while ago. Yes, the sun has to be to the left and just behind the driver for it to show up (on a left-hand drive car.) I agree that it can be distracting but I've found it less and less distracting these days -- I'm probably getting used to it and it doesn't happen too often.

Here are two threads that discussed this issue:

Yep. Normal. A reflection of the plastic cover, just visible when the sun is falling in at a certain angle.

I do not have such problem since there is no sun in Belgium
