I remember back in the early 90's the Pontiac Bonneville had a heads up display. Its not exactly a new technology, granted the BMW system is 110% better. But I just don't see the big deal.

HUD is great especially with Nav. My favorite option now.

Thats why they use that color in the instrument panel in airplanes.

Just a point of clarification, it's "Head Up Display", not "Heads Up". Heads up is what you yell when someone is throwing something at you and you are not looking.

...and a third head bobbin' up 'n down from the passenger side. (Hint: the one in green - hehe)

HUD is awesome. Its brightness can also be adjusted in the I-Drive screen. I use non-polarized driving sun glasses with it and it is extremely legible.
