Hi all,
I was just thinking howlong can you or tend to keep your E60? i mean don't you have enough of it after a while? the max time i kept a car was 2 years and it was a honda civic 2003 model.
I recently bought my first E60 it's a 530i full options with PDC, SATNAV, XENONS, LEATHER, PHONE, and many more.i'm thinking of keeping it for a bit and thinking of travel round EU in it, what do you guys think? will it get me there and back? also this car drive like new and still smell new inside when you sit in it.
also is it worth spend money on this car or not??
Thanks for your replies.

I kept cars at most for a year. This is actually the first car I could see myself staying with for awhile. By far the best ride I have ever had. Plus all the mods I want to do with this car makes we want to keep it even more. I do want to switch to the F10 one day but for now very happy with the E60. I haven't had any issues with it and don't mind spending some funds on modding it.

Just got mine. An '08 535i. My previous car is a VW Passat, which I bought new right after college and it's still flying with me after 11 years and 198K miles!!!
I plan to keep it for at least 4 years if it's not too much of a trouble.

I keep my fingers crossed now as maintenance issues pop up that nothing major goes wrong!

keeing my 550 for at least 4 more years, then upgrading to someones secondhand 550xi (f10 style )
also did you guys see the writeup on the new M5 in C&D? i felt like a little kid looking at his dads playboys! haha you can tell they were really trying to seem intelligent to the "bimmer nerds" (their words) i had to actually look up a couple of the adjectives they used and i had a 780 verbal on my SAT's haha.

Bought my E60 brand new with every option I wanted, so I'm aware of everything that has happened to it and I have no regrets about what options it doesn't have. I'm still no fan of the F10, so I recently spent money on mods and an extended warranty. I'll most likely keep the car at least another 3 years before I consider getting something else.

My Ride: 530i
Model Year: 2004
04' e60 125k miles (had it since 06) runs and looks like new, well maintained, doesn't look outdated, even with the newer style 5 series. plan to keep it for as long as it runs and doesn't give me much trouble.
i never understood why people switch cars every couple of years? to add some excitement with somethign new...if we don't switch wives every couple of years, might as well switch cars? every once in a while when I feel like I want that brand new car mood, I give my car a nice wash, buff, detail, touch-up, recondition the leather...feels like new. this car has everything i could want.

Same here. I bought my 2008 e60 in August of last year, never before owning a BMW. I came out of an Acura TL. The test drive blew me away, & after owning it the 1st week, I knew I kwanted to keep it. I paid it off early this year, & plan on keeping it till the warranty runs out. I was fortunate to get the extra 2yrs. of free maintenance, so I'm good till 2014, or 100 k. I love this beast! Refined, & fast! .
