Sorry if this question has been asked and answered before, but how do you turn off the legal disclaimer message that pops up when you start the car? Is there a way to deactivate it so you don't have to acknowledge it every time?
Thanks

Except for some early software builds, the disclaimer goes away after a short time. It sounds like your car may not have a newer version running.
Since this is your first post, I'll first say welcome to the forums! I imagine you've spent some time reading here but if you haven't, I recommend doing so to get familiar with many of these types of things.
Also, in addition to including your location in your profile (nice job on that -- most people take a while to do that), you'll want to include your car's information in your signature so that everyone can help answer your questions as you have them.
Enjoy the forums and your car!

Want to say it was with the software update as part of my iPod retrofit in early '07 that the warning screen started going away. It never truly goes away but pops up for 30 seconds or so then goes away by itself. When I got my '04 545, it stayed until you acknowledged the lawyers crap. Now it just goes away and reverts to the screen you were on previously. Same for my new 550.

Correct. My initial software (2006 car delivered 4/05) needed you to click before it went away. I had a code upgrade earlier this year and since then it goes away on its own. I do not have Nav either.

IOn cars with navigation and newer (last year or so) software, it does go away by itself.
This forum rocks! On the Lexus GX470 I have it requires a special $100 electronics unit (aftermarket) that I've refused to pay for. Nice to see it done via software.
