How to replace keyless entry battery?

In the end, it may not make in difference as the charging circuit (in the key) may be faulty. Either way, I look at a failed key remote as an opportunity to gain a spare key after purchasing a new key from BMW. The key charging circuit may not have enough umph to risk a fire or other serious damage to the non-rechargable battery, but you never know....better safe than sorry.
