Long story, but had to replace the ballast and ALC. Headlight is working now, but still have the blinking green light on the light panel and still have the adaptive headlight malfunction on the idrive. I'm sure all I need is to some how reintialize the system...Anyone know how?
thanks,
will

Do you have NCS? Are the SMC (AHL) modules new and uncoded?

If so, try coding LMA and each SMC with a blank .MAN file.

Another question - is it the driver or passenger side, or both? If doing driver side you need to ground pin 12 on the headlight wiring harness when you code to tell it it's the driver side. By default SMC modules all think they are passenger side.

Isn't the adaptive initialization just turning the steering wheel left and right a few times? I could swear that's what I read before.

I hope all you needed was the ballast and ALC... I needed an entire assembly...

The initialization is all the way left then right then left again I think... Do a search - its been posted a crap load of times.

I had to replace the passenger side..I bought the alc used and do not know if it was from the driver or passenger side. I have no idea what NCS, LMA, SMC stand for.

Did a search and didn't come up with anything. I tried the left - right - left procedure but it didn't initialize and I still have the adaptive headlight error. Am I missing something?
