Just interested in your experience - originally I was tempted but went for manual in the end !

Edit - sorry - the poll questions are flawed - please just enter the gear box type not engine size.

Thanks

I had a hell of a time finding a 545 to test drive and I have about ten dealers within 150 miles. All they had were automatics, No Manuals or SMGs. I feel if you are going to pay $60K for a car you should be able to test drive the exact engine/trany combo. I probably could have driven another BMW series SMG or manual. My current ride is a manual and after 11 years I want to rest my left foot

Not sure I did the poll right. I checked SMG and it unchecked when I did the engine size. I discovered it did the same thing with the other choices. So, I stuck with SMG choice. Can't tell if those who are checking engine sizes are SMG or otherwise. Looks like you can't have a poll within a poll wo running the risk of skewed results.

SMG is awesome and wouldn't trade it for anything else. I finally used the shifter last weekend for the first time. It felt wierd at first from useing the paddles.

Ordered Auto because I don't want to shift anymore. Did it for 10 years and now I'm just too lazy.
Also I didn't wanted my wife to mess it up
So I just took the Auto, it's smoother then the Auto function of the SMG and my wife is not having trouble with it
