Post How to make turbo louder

Greetings

I recently have been looking online about removing my cowl on my 08 535i to increase the turbo spool sound. I figured it out: on the top of the engine bay, remove the big rubber weatherstripping that goes across the engine bay. This will greatly increase the sound of the turbo inside the cabin. You will only want to do this in dry weather because water can get into the engine bay and water on very hot engine components is not a good mix.

Have you tried an aftermarket intake? Simply changing from the OEM air box to a cone filter will make a large difference in how a turbo sounds in the cabin.
