I'll be selling my car early next year. I'm definitely sorry to say this out as i'm putting down my name for the Cayman S pretty soon.

My Ride: 2006 530i - Sport - 6spd - Orient Blue with Auburn/Anthracite
Hmmm, I kept my last three vehicles for 7 years, 9 years, and 8 years, respectively. Changing from one to the next was either a change in requirement (starting a family and needed more room) or a sudden increease in maintenance cost because of wearout. I am hoping that the '06 530i proves to be a reliable vehicle and that it runs well without developing a "service habit" for a long time...

I plan on keeping my 2006 530xi at least 5 years but no longer than 10. I am getting married in a year and a half, and although I am 25 years of age, calling certain shots (needs) when married is not within my capabilities. Im pretty good in accessing needs with my current position, but I do not know what is to come, so I will be playing it safe. Who knows, maybe I can swing for an ///M5 after a few years, but for now, I need to forget about purchasing new cars and have my 530xi put it out for years to come. Afterall, I just got her last week!

Just voted (76 votes total at this time), and there is a curious effect on the bar chart.
My particular choice (4 years) seems rather unpopular:
2 years - 18%
3 years - 21 %
4 years - 6 %
5+ years - 51 %
Looks like 4 years of ownership is a number to avoid.
I wonder why.
