2 weeks 530i slept in the garage and no problem.
I guess it is good to drive the car for an hour on a freeway after such a break so the battery can fully recharge

I'm off on holiday for two weeks from tomorrow and was wondering if the E60 needs any special procedures before I go or after I come back.

My previous car, a Porsche Boxster, would 'switch itself off' after 5 days. Thus, it could not be unlocked using the remote control. You had to use the key and then had to put the same key into the ignition within 10 seconds to prevent the alarm from going off.

Does the E60 do anything similar?
Two weeks should not be a problem.

2 weeks is no biggie.

Some things you might want to consider doing.

1. Overinflate the tires (prevents flat spots)
2. Full tank of gas
3. Cover up the grill and exhaust with plastic (prevents rodent infestation*)

*This is really dependent on where you live and where you park the car.

Enjoy your holiday (and hope this post isn't too late ...)

I left my Cayenne for 2 months last year in the winter when I went back to Asia. All I took note of was to have a full tank of gas to prevent condensation in the gas tank. Besides that, it was perfect. E60s are fine when left alone for two months too....although that was last summer. I wouldnt expect any problems in the winter either...these are modern cars...not 20 year old beaters...

I left my E60 for the whole 3 months last summer. But occasionally my buddy would 'heat up' the car once in a while for me.

Jeffs, correct me if i'm wrong but i've read somewhere that you're actually supposed to leave the car with low amount of gas instead of full?
