how to flush power steering fluid?
i determined that the low speed whine i have is the power steering system. i'd like to change the fluid to see if it helps.
can the power steering system be flushed? or is it just a matter of sucking the old fluid out of the resorvoir, and putting new fluid back in?

I have replace power steering pump before. Yes, I got high pitch whine ....and the P.S. Pump bearing seal was bad. To test, spray little bit WD40 to see the route goes away (for two weeks) or not.
To flush... Find screw on the bottom of the pump... open it, all fluid will be out. If not, then open the pipe which connect to the pump....
Add the ATF of your choice..... then start engine, turn the steering wheel from very left to very right, to very left....back and forth few times.... You are done. If you really want to clean/flush remaining fluid in the rack, you need to do this couple of times...

yeah, i was thinking of loosening a line somewhere to get the fluid out. doing it twice is a good idea also.
besides the pump and the steering rack, what other components are there for the active steering?
