My Ride: '05 545i, silver gray, black leather with anthracite maple wood, sport package, premium sound, navigation, cold weather package, electric rear sunshade, folding rear seat, satellite radio prep, PIAA 4150K fogs, red rear reflectors, hardwired Valentine One
If you asked me 10 years ago, I would have been bummed out. But, having owned a few first model year cars (in tech we call it the bleading edge... ), I'm happy to have the 4 year old, time proven, engine in my 545i. Plus, at $1,000 over invoice, I got a much better deal than I expect anybody buying a 550i for at least the next year will get.

As the 550 is an untested engine in the 5er, it will likely be buggy and have a frequent flyer card at the local dealership service center.
A whole new group of SUCKERS will fall to the usual first-year BMW Blues and they'll be longing for a 2005 545 !? I'd buy a 545 now at a discount or sit out the year.

HOLY GOD! You truly brought this post back from the dead. Almost a year at that. Regarding the news though... I was upset that the 545 was only 2 years old when it was cast aside for a newer engine. But, I guess it makes it easier to move into an 08' M3
don`t forget I need to post about 20 post a day.
Get the New 08 M3
