If you asked me 10 years ago, I would have been bummed out. But, having owned a few first model year cars (in tech we call it the bleading edge... 
), I'm happy to have the 4 year old, time proven, engine in my 545i. Plus, at $1,000 over invoice, I got a much better deal than I expect anybody buying a 550i for at least the next year will get.

As the 550 is an untested engine in the 5er, it will likely be buggy and have a frequent flyer card at the local dealership service center.
