+1000 I bring the hood down until it is just a few inches from closing, then drop it. The OEM hoods are aluminum after all and too much pressure closing it can lead to dent - that would be catastrophic

I drop it from 10" or so and give it hard shove from the top.

Done this since I notice the car was giving a lot of wind noise on the freeway, my wife then said hey your hood is open...and it was.

It looked like only one catch had engaged so the nearside part of the hood was open while the middle and offside were flapping around in the wind. I thought maybe that had creased the hood but luckilly it did not. so now I alway give it a good slam shut.

It's a frikin long hood to have flapping in the wind.

I do the exact same thing....I started do this after I lowered my hood slightly in order to reduce the gap between the hood and front bumper. I found that after lowering the hood, it required a little more pressure to get closed (both latches latched).

I usually stand on it and jump usually four or five times to insure my hood is completely closed.

close my hood? why? I never have to open it

jk....controlled drop from just the right height so that it closes fully
