i don't see too many e60 here in hawaii but i do see a lot of e-class and other mercedes. we have a lot of asians here and that explains why. i always want to talk about the car with other e60 owners but every time i see one is when i'm driving. i might need to park in the dealer's parking lot in order to talk to someone <_<. oh, well, the person might not be as friendly as the people in this forum...who knows .

kigerka, i used to park as close to the place that i need to go as possible (i always looked for the spaces next to the handicap stalls) . but it's different now. i don't even want people want close to it . we don't have the "nod" thing like the harley bikers. probably our cars are not too rare and "special" . i think if we have the m5 , that will be a different story .

I always parked away as far as possible from the crowded area on a parking lot. But when returning to my car there were always people that parked next to me although there were a 100 spaces available closer to the exit of the carpark. Really anoying.

In Chicago, people look and smile. I have had truckers honk and point. One teenager yelled from a lawn "That's a beautiful car!" I think he said it all. It still looks shiny and new enough (early July delivery), and I think the headlights (with the lighted rings) look unusual (and cool). It will start to blend in after a while, but right now it still attracts attention.

In Chicago also I get a lot of great feedback. People seem to really like the design which is very intersting considering all of the negative press. I've received a lot of compliments from people in all age groups. It seems BMW (Bangle) understands what people like even though he can't seem to please those who write for Auto magazines. By the way, everyone that has seen how the Idrive operates in my car thinks it is great.

I get a ton of people in my blind spot or tailgating to check out the car. They also stop short along side it at stop lights to check it out. Some want to race but back off because their car can't handle as well.
Some lady in Mercedes cut my wife off on a big, round house freeway exchange. Idiot.! They were the only ones on the curve. I'm sure it was on purpose! For what purpose I don't know.
My wife went quickly around her and floored it on the curve. It stuck like glue and the other driver couldn't hack it so backed off, stuck behind some big rig. What a maroon!
Since I don't valet it, the driver's always complain 'cause they don't get to drive it.
Yesterday a new X3 driver waved as I passed her at a stop sign crossing. I think were bother admiring each others ride!

When I was at the International Children's Games in Cleveland last week, I was stopped by one of the security guards, who told me that he wanted my car, and offered to trade me his car (as a joke). He told me he would have to save up for a long time to be able to afford it. I told him that there were cheaper versions, and he immediately shot back -- "No, I want exactly that car - same color, same interior." When I told him about the HUD, he went nuts. Every time I came into the Willard parking garage near public square, he ran over to tell me again how much he loved the car.
