Dear guys,

How do I know if my E60 has Active Steering?
My father and I bought this E60 (2006) as a second hand car in Hong Kong.

Is there anyway I can check on the panel?

(btw, I'm new here, hi everyone )

Cheers,
George

Under the hood in the front left (passenger side) corner there is a silver box for the active steering... aside from that you can have the dealer run the VIN# and it will give you everything about your car including its production date. Heres a pic:

Or, just count the number of revolutions the steering wheel makes at a standstill from lock to lock. On AS cars, it should be, if I recall correctly, less than two...

Look at the shape of your steering fluid reservoir:

If it's short, no active steering
If it's long, yes active steering

I'll echo what 'RUDY' Said - when I bought my E60 thats the 1st thing I had to get used to the lower number of revolutions when parking up!
