How to Determine the Build Date

Can the build date be determined from the VIN?

Only in the US.

All others have to check the VIN or ask the dealer.

You can tell the build week stamped near the hinge of the front bonnet - something along the lines of 47/2003 as in week 47 of 2003 etc.

Also on a sticker under the bonnet, l/h side towards the rear (when viewed from the front of the vehicle).
