Overrated? Aesthetic????

What about Active Roll Stabilization, staggered wheels, stiffer springs, and on the 550i the M tuned suspension???

regarding the height, the sport package e60 is about 0.7" lower than a standard e60

My Ride: 530I Silver gray with gray leather with Premium Package, Logic 7 Premium sound system with Ipod interface, xenon adaptive headlights, Active steering, Power retractable rear sunshade, Comfort seats, Cold weather package and M5 OEM 166 wheels, Sprintbooster. Ceramic Tint all around, Bilstein Sports shocks with Eibach springs, Brake performance Rotors and Axxis ceramic pads.
Default

to sum it all up, here are the following stnadard features of sports package vs premium package which is standard on 5 series E60.
- Sport suspension(more stiffer shocks and springs, bigger or stiffer stabilizer bars)
- Sport Rims( 18" rims and stagered, and has summer tires)
- Shadowline trims( flat black window trims vs crome trin)
- Sport seats(has leg extender vs regular seat

As a result of sport suspension, it also brings the car lower buy about 0.7" compared to premium package only.

I hope this info helps

First thing I looked for when I was in the process of getting my E60 is the sport package. It's worth every penny especially in a used car, IMHO.

OK, so based on that, that guy must be either a super enthusiast, or the 16" rims instead of the 18's, tipped him off.

Derr, isn't standard wheel size at 17"?

Also, I would hardly say shadowline difference requires the guy to be enthusiast to differentiate. It's pretty evident man.

Could be, or simply you have a chrome window trim and a knowlegble BMW guy would know you don't have a sports package. If he has seen the inside, the seat will be an obvious giveaway also. Most common upgrade on the car are the wheels, so it cannot be a sole distinguishing marker of a sport package.
