I think like NAV when she speaks you can hold the volume and it will change accordingly.
Didn't work for me before version 12 and doesn't work for me now with 12.2.

The good news is that with 12.2, the volume is reduced significantly and is just about perfect. Before, it was quite loud and intrusive, especially if you were on a phone call!

You are right i have this when they upgraded my software from 10.x to 12.1.
Do you have warning message screen that you need to accept to carry on with i-drive menu with this version?

It is time for BMW AG to release change notice to customer everytime they change something in the software upgrade. This is ridiculous. Look at us here we are all like lost sheeps.

Iceman, you are in Germany right... can you help call the BMW rep and tell them they need to do something here before we all lose our sanity?

I am still pissed off with the warning message screen and BMW AG is not responding to remove it yet. I am pressing hard from here.
BMW is not willing to release the info on what changes they have made in the software updates. Nobody is giving you an answer on it when you ask... They are playing the stupid "everything is top secret" game.
The accept screen will NEVER be removed by BMW! You will allways have to accept first. Maybe some aftermarket solution will be offered in the near future, but definately NOT by BMW!

Thanks!
But if those in Europe or anywhere outside US with version 12.1 and do not have Warning screen.. why would we in Asia be subjected to any differences?

By the way, changing in i-drive menu and if it is not spelled out in the handbook/ instruction that is not acceptable to end user also. The problem is not only customer not knowing what to expect, I think BMW rep across the world is kept in the dark as well.

Well... i'm starting to get disillusioned how customer oriented is that badge now. :'(

I can't tell you why. Are there as many lawsuits as in the USA ?
Or maybe it's required by law for some strange reason ?
I can't tell you. But if they put the accept screen in there you will not get rid of it... exept you find an aftermarket solution...

It is probably a littel bit of both. The US is all about safety, this or that. Common sense works less around there.
Plus the US can anybody for anything. (Palomony for christ sake) Who the hell ever heard of suing someone because you were together but not married Plus much much more.

I have the hourly chime set in my car but it goes off anywhere from 4 seconds before to 10 seconds after the hour changes on the display. Has anyone else seen had this happen?

I picked up a new E60 530d this week and noticed that it chimes 3 times on the hour, has anyone else noticed this?? It is enabled in Display Settings > Clock > Message Memo.

I can't remember seeing this in my previous E60,? is this a new feature which was added in V12.x?
Phils,
can you confim for me that you do not have the warning accept screen with the current V12.X software you just got upgraded to?

Thanks for the help!

Zag,

I haven't had my car upgraded yet (I've only had it just over 1 week), but I presume that it is running V12 as it was manufactured mid July.

I don't have the warning accept screen.

Hope this helps.

Phil.

I have a Jan '04 build with no update to software and I do not have the hourly chime feature......so it may be a feature with Nav or a change added to newer software.
