There may be a leak in the AC lines. Have a mechanic add dye/color to the refrigerant and charge the system. You can go from there.

Yeah everrything is in place and running normally as far as I can see. I'm thinking it was only flaming hot because it was 113 degrees. but I'm hoping it's just low on refrigerant

Just had my compressor replaced under warranty for this reason. Works great now!

I am out of warranty and After taking Another look around I found the compressor belt to be missing. Is it a challenging task to replace?

I though you replace that a while ago?

Yes it can be a challenge if you do not have the right tool. There is no tensioner on the ac belt for the 545i, it stretches over the two pulleys!

If you have the right tool it is about 10 minutes of work to get the lower cover off, active steering bracket off, main belt off, and use the tool. If you do not have the right tool you will not be able to get that belt on. See if you can find my old thread on how to make the tool for less than $10 and how to use it. Make sure the belt is in the groove fully before you say you are done. otherwise you will be doing it again within a couple days.

oh....

Only get the factory type belt, it stretches! If you get a aftermarket belt it will not stretch and will damage something... that is if you can even get it on.

If you can order the belt online it cost $12 if not it will cost as high as $65 at the dealer.

May as well replace the main belt too, as it could have been damaged when the AC belt let go.

edit...

Here is the post I had on making the tool...

someone on here made a clamp tool out of a mini pipe cutter. personally, i was able to walk the belt on without clamps, although it was a little tough.

Is there anywhere Other then the dealership that would carry the contitech belt. I work too late and can never get to the dealership and this arizona heat is killing me. Or is there another brand that will work
