Fluctuates approx 100 to 150 rpm. Gets really bad when I'm caught in heavy traffic.
My dealer did a valve adjustment for me a few weeks ago. Rough idling went away for awhile but has now returned.

I'm hoping to get my door seals replaced soon. Parts are on back order...
JDN - I would like to hear more about your AC noise. I have been dealing with a high pitch whine coming from the engine compartment when the engine is reving from 1000 to 2000 rpm. It resonates into the passanger compartment at slow speeds (30-50 mph). It has been to the dealer 3 times for this, once they replaced the tensioner pulley and other bearings (supposedly). It seemed logical, but I still have the noise. I though it was the AC compresor from day one, but disconnect the power to the clutch so the compressor wouldn't spin and there was no difference.
Does this sound like the problem you had? if so, what exactly was replaced?

On the idle, mine feels rough, but the tach needle is stable. I'll complain next time I'm in, but it seems like everyone here's saying the needle's bouncing with the rough idle.
On the fan sound, when it's hotter outside in the Summer, like it is now, the aux/cooling fan is running at high speed, and definitely is louder on shutdown. It's 100% consistent for me depending on the temperature. Above 90 degrees, the fan's running pretty much full time, under that, it's not. I think it's just normal operation, and the E39 was the same. We had those really loud jet turbine-sounding fans that ran in the Summer.
