As what you say, i dont mind doing the control via ipod as 5000HKD seems too much for unlocking the feature and dont worth it in my point of view.

Keith, my car has the Dension 500 Kit. If you want to try it out, I will come down on Friday. I prefer to buy the Dension 500 because if you ever change to a non-BMW in the future, you can always re-use it. BTW, my black shadowline trim has arrived. AK is super busy now but I hope he can install it tomorrow.

called up bmw, got a quote for e90

~2800 for the interface
~1400 for the installation (guess its different for e60)

I know you car has the ipod integration but i didnt know it was Dension!
How much did you pay for the kit and how much to install?
Does the kit require dealer reset/programming and stuffs?
