For my old E46, I DIDN'T go for the extended warranty package, as it is $18000. I did ask my service advisor if I will ever need $18000 in service in a year, and he said no. In my course of ownership of the E46 for 3 years, I think the total of service related cost is less than $10000, and there aren't any major problems with the car.

Wow, haven't come to the forum for just 1/2 day, and there are so many new posts here. Looks like we are getting 2 more 523i here, that's great! So I am not the only one with the 523i now.

I am quite frastruated when I know there is a promotional discount after I got the car for less than a month, my sales didn't mention it at all, even this is the second car I bought from him. Damn.....

I only got a set of original rubber mat from the sales, and I had to ask him to fill up the tank for me. When I took delivery of the car, the tank is almost empty...haha, so much for a $500k car....not even a full tank of gas.

Hey mic325, who is your sales ? I visited the TKW showroom around mid Aug... to pick up my E46 after the yearly checkup... while I was kicking tyres.... "BS" with the Sales Rep abt the E90... I orginially liked the E90 more, cos' my colleagues just bought a E90 330i ..... this Sales Rep told me there would be a promote for the 5 series they will have a couple of 523i, heaps of 525i and 530i.... when I call them back in the last week of Aug, they only have 1 523i left... I told them I was serious abt the 523i... the sales called me later to let me know they will put out another 10 523i @ special price .... I then rushed out to the CWB showroom and hang them my credit card for the deposit ...when I went to the M5 show in Ocean Terminal last weekend... they told me all promote 523i were sold, including the demo car at the show

Let see if I will get full tank of gas or not he did give me last time

For the mini-meet, absolutely, would be great to catch up with you guys did u guys went to Sai-Kung last time, I saw the pics looks a bit like Sai Kung...
Hopefully, I'll pick up my at TKW this weekend, looking forward to the mini-meet

My sales is Wilson. I was in the exact situation as you did. Went to pick up my E46 after the annual checkup, saw a nice black E90 in the service reception, and went to "BS" with my sales, Wilson. As you can see in my signature, I am a "3er" guy, having driven my ex's E30 up to the E46, so naturally, I am bias on the E90. Took a test drive, not very impressed, very similar to the E46, and I want i-drive so badly, they want $40000 for this option alone, so it makes the 330i to almost $540000. Then I asked him to let me take a spin in the 523i...voila.....I am sold. Just after 30 secs of test drive, I'm bargaining trade-in price already! Maybe I am too eager to get the car, so he won't bother to let me know the upcoming promotion.

Yea!!! More and more 5ers are going to the mini meet... We are planned to have a meet on Monday afternoon (it's holiday), anyone else interested??? Sai Kung might be an intereting place!!?? (I live in Sai Kung ) Just kidding... Anywhere would be good for me... Just that I suggest some places that we can take some pictures, and we can possibly have a chat... need some input...

HAHAH now thats a lie! "Ordinary" people here dont own no 997 nor E60 nor MCS.

Ordinary people own a Civic, Accord, Camry... those types... the higher end ordinary people own G35s here and tiny bit above higher end ordinary people own E60s and those cars in that pic... Rich @*^$(@ Bastards own Porsche Turbos and beyond.


NO I didnt see too many high end cars in HK... not where I went... I didnt goto the rich neighborhoods tho... but did see lots of tiny engine Mercedes and few BMW... Did see a 997 C2 yellow and CLS 500

 

Just picked up my E60 523i Black Sapphire|Grey|Aluminium|122, 8J x 17 wheels with 245/45 R17 runflat tyres today

Bonus: 1/2 tank of gas, carpets
