To E60 brothers in HK,
Hi everyone, i am about to purchase a used 2003 530i. Can anyone suggest where I should take the car for inspection before i make the purchase. Is there any particular problem area I should pay attention to?
Thanks for your help!

My car is 03 530i as well, watch out the electronic stuffs cos they are common faults in early e60 but should be fine if they maintained regularly.
And mind you 2003 3.0 engine only have 231bhp....and later model (post 09/2005) has more powerful engine 252bhp...
But i would still go for it if the price is right tho

Hi,
I try to purchase a used 530i. I went to the 2nd hand car dealer in Kowloon Bay. He demands me signing the sales agreement before test driving the car. Is this a common practise in Hong Kong? It sounds too crazy to be true? The used car dealer insists it is a common practise???
Pingu: thanks for ur PM!

but if you have to sign it then ask the guy, what happens if you dont like the car and dont buy it.
Do they cancel the sales agreement?
If not then tell them to kiss there ass. and just walk away and look for other 1.
I tested out a car last month, a 530i 2005 and we did not sign any thing. We did not buy it in the end.
Maybe the guy trusted me

other thing you will have to sign a form so that you can test the car but not a sales agreement.
Best bet is go to BMW dealer and ask them for a test drive and they will need you to fill out a form to test drive it.
This for is just incase you crash the car or try to nick it.

The only place for a 2nd hand is ebay, that is were me and keith got it from.
Or try asking the other forum members.
Or wait until I sell my car in 3 years time.

otherwise keep you eye on classified section on here, people tend to sale a bit cheaper than on ebay.
I have asked the HK BMW about the price of the Mtec wheel with airbag a year ago , the time they quoted me was around HKD$ 9,500,
wasnt that bad at all if you compared with a 2nd hand one in UK will be GBP 450.00 which is about HKD$ 7,200.
