You mean use WD 40 for the residual tape right? Using WD 40 before taking the plate off doesn't serve a purpose.

Not sure, but I think if you take it to BMWHK and ask them, they might do it for you. Is just tape, nothing expensive.

What does the tint plate looks like, post some pics.
I hope its not the metal plate that most vans and truck put on, just like the plates in LA

I think he means the front is screws like my not bolted on and they did not us tape on the front
I am even more confuse now, does screw on and and bolt on make a difference Both uses a screw

I think he meant can we taped on the plate instead of bolt on like every E60 on the road from the dealer.

you can not bolt the plate on to the bumper unless he take the hole bumper off but if he use screw to fix it, which they have use then no need to take the bumper off.
so there is a difference.
well as for taping it on, my A is no, I tryed it when I got the car, need a plate mount like mic`s.

which mean you still need to drill holes in your bumper to mount the plate mount.

i originally meant to tape the front plate on instead using the screws but maybe not now. bmwhk should have ordered the bracket as standard to all cars.
