For me I have the 2004 525i and touch wood the car is in very good shape and the qualtiy is good apart from the nosic of the sunroof and the oem brakepad which I have fixed by changing them to EBC green stuff.
Basicly I love this car.

It must be a bad experience in the dark side.

The quality of the current generation of Bimmers are pretty much the same as before. Squeaks and rattles are almost unavoidable, but the chassis and the drivetrain are superb.

I just reinstalled my notebook, had alot of bug on it so format it.

Quality is ok, acceptable I say as there are squeaks and rattle as with any cars on the road. Most people say the E class is a better car, but who cares anyways. Those people that say that just say so because it's a benz, they don't appreciate driving dynamics. I just love the drive and the look of the E60. Enough said

Also you are driving one now, so you can tell me how you feel about the E vs the 5.
