I think I have paid 3.3K for this i-pod retrofit.
I have Logic 7 stereo system on my car so I think it worth the change, if you have standard stereo system I think the change will not provide you better sound experience but only a convenience of CD-Free.
If you want better sound from i-pod, you can choose AIFF format when storing the song into your i-pod. The file size will increase dramatically but the sound quality is quite close to standard CD, IMO.

Perhaps you can listen to my i-pod + Logic 7 to make decision.
All Chinese songs name cannot be displayed (For all English O/S in i-drive), it will cost you extra HK$1,000 to program the whole i-drive into Traditional Chinese, so to display the song names, which I did not order it... because the service adviser told me there is a slim chance the change of language will crash the i-drive and you will have to pay for the re-install and/or hardware cost, which could cost an arm and leg.

And Dension 500 will not work on our car, i even heard there will be difficulties of getting the BMW ipod retrofit too. :thumbsdown:
