That sucks man, but did he at least give you the repeat customer discount?
He did give me a pretty good trade in price for the 318Ci.

Ic. I asked this q cos back in 2003 (after SARS), BMWHK offered a batch of 735i & 745i at a very special price. They had an allocation for that price from the factory & they can be ordered from factory as long as allocation hasn't run out.
Also, a BMW salesman told me they were able to offer the E39 525i at $3xxk during 2002-03 was due to the fact that BMWHK committed to a batch of 500 cars. Each can be customer ordered.
True, they did have a batch of nicely priced E39 in 2002, the 520i is around 320k, but have to wait 6 months before taking delivery. By the time the car arrived Hong Kong, the E60 is out, that's why I give up and get the E46 instead.

I don't think BMWHK needs to do anymore promotion now, the econony is getting better and they won't worry about moving out their stocks.

And got some news from there:
1. 523i has raise the retail price to $513,000

2. BMW got some promotion price for ACS type IV (the salesman "said" they got few sets in stock only)
19" $22,500 set (rims only)
18" $18,500 set (rims only)
They always set the "promotion price" to attract our attention.

Did you guys get the E60 accessories flyer? For the M-kit, after paint and installation, the price is $24000, and that's without the spoiler, with the spoiler painted and fitted, the whole package comes to $29000, that's what bunbun paid in the first place. no discount at all.

For the ACS IV package, they have been offering that price since I got the E60, I ended up getting the wheel package in Prince Edward for $24000 with tyres.

Simply Bimmer, welcome aboard. For a nicely piriced M-kit, you can get the parts off in Destuland parts in Hung Hum for around $12000, and you can take to your favorite garage to do the installation. That's my next target, almost there. :-)

But for now, is wakeboard time!!

I think sometimes the promotions are forced upon by BMW AG. During the last days of the E34, I heard that the factory actually had to subsidise each car in order for it to sell. BMW AG themselves have sales targets too, so it's not uncommon that they start to throw in more equipment as the model reaches the end of it's lifecycle.
Also, what the competitors do will influence marketing strategy. If BMWHK raises prices or don't do any promotion, but others start to take action & manage to steal sales, then BMWHK has to do something.

Agree! Same case for the WTO 7ser, they sell over 300 cars in that single month! It's a record high!

1. 523i has raise the retail price to $513,000

3. No more 545i, only 540i and 550i left on the top of e60 list

4. I am still not able to get the 6Series catalogue, damn
1. All E60 (apart from 540i & 550i) got price increases for June production. The levels were back to the prices b4 3/06, when they cut on avg. $20k for 523i/525i/530i. Don't understand why as they did not cut prices when the Euro was weak for a long period last yr.

3. No more 545i after a very long wait. 540i is poor value for money, whereas 550i is good value for money. 540i nearly $100k more than 530i, yet the only extra is sports steering wheel. 550i is $25k more expensive than 545i, but has Logic7 & Star Spoke 123 over the 545i, so in effect the 550i is no more expensive than 545i, if those 2 items are on the buyer's wish list anyway. If u spec the 540i up to 550i levels, then price difference is miniscule.

4. 6er brochure can be had from Tokwawan showroom. They have a stack of them on the shelf.

They still have some 740Li & 750Li left from WTO & EAG. They started clearing them out last week, $898k for 740Li & $980k for 750Li.
