Dear all, I am actively looking for good quality 2nd hand 520 or 525 here in HK, prefer blk/silver exterior and blk interior, 2003 or 2004 model. Here are some questions regarding E60, would appreciate if you can advise:
1) Do u think 520i provide sufficient power for daily use?
2) Where can I get 18" M5 look rims and M5 front apron, or where do you guys go for mod in HK?

Many thanks!

I can answer your first question, I think I hv the only 520i in this sub forum so far...hehe And yes, it's quite sufficient, especially now with the 6 speed auto gear box. Happy hunting.

So they only offered discount then on stock they had on hand?? No factory orders at special price?
Unlike other countries, in HK when a dealer want to sell the car at a lower than the suggested retail price they have to apply a permit from the government and with good reason too as the price of the car and the tax they receive have a positive relationship. So there's no reason to lower the price for a vehicle ordered from the factory and basically you don't need to do any car shopping here in HK as different dealer wouldn't sell for less plus there's no different dealer only one authorize importer.

Water goods different story but I personally wouldn't get those.

you are right, this sub-forum is fill with 523i.

18" M5 rim you can get those at almost any tire store that sell rims.

Front apron you can get it from BMW HK or heard the others some got it from a different source.

mic325 have all the answers to that or you can search in this sub-forum too. Happy hunting.

Ic. I asked this q cos back in 2003 (after SARS), BMWHK offered a batch of 735i & 745i at a very special price. They had an allocation for that price from the factory & they can be ordered from factory as long as allocation hasn't run out.
Also, a BMW salesman told me they were able to offer the E39 525i at $3xxk during 2002-03 was due to the fact that BMWHK committed to a batch of 500 cars. Each can be customer ordered.

In addition, how much is a set of Star Spoke 124 (original, not replicas)?
I think the 124 goes well as an alternative to the Double Spoke 135 that comes as standard on the Sport Pack.
Btw, a set of original 19" 166 (the M5 rims) sells for Eur1,3xx (w/o tyres) on ebay.de, & those 167 (M6 rims) sells for abt Eur500 more. Delivery to HK will be around Eur300. Are these prices better or worse than HK?
I think it might be cheaper to assemble ur own 'Sport Pack' 6mths post-registration rather than ordering it with the car. The only things needed to be specified at time of ordering, if that is the aim, is the M steering wheel, Sports Seats & Shadowline. Don't see many Shadowlines in HK, so far only one with 124 rims (no Sport Pack). Don't see many with Sport Packs either, only 2 (one of them awaiting delivery at BMWHK last weekend). Talking abt seeing cars at BMW Tokwawan, I saw a 530i fitted with Police lights awaiting delivery several mths ago. It has no markings & is in Silver Grey. The spec seems to be HK std apart from the blue lights behind the grill & a set of lights on the parcel shelf. The sales told me the car is destined for G4.

Wow, David, long time no see!!

I have a dead pixel in my iDrive screen from Day 1 too. They will change it for free, but I'm worry by taking apart the dash, they will do more harm than good, creating more rattles and scratches.
Hi mic325,

Agree with that, so I just "leave it" there.........

Hi All,

Went to BMW car show @Habour City yesterday, so crowd there~

Saw XXL mini, e91 and e60/e90 with ACS type IV rims, lovely

And got some news from there:
1. 523i has raise the retail price to $513,000

2. BMW got some promotion price for ACS type IV (the salesman "said" they got few sets in stock only)
19" $22,500 set (rims only)
18" $18,500 set (rims only)

3. No more 545i, only 540i and 550i left on the top of e60 list

4. I am still not able to get the 6Series catalogue, damn

I saw shadowline on M5s

124 is a good alternative too, I like my 123 also as those are rare too.

I think I will opt for the 135M though, looks pretty good on our car too.
