My Ride: Mini Cooper
I don't know the wet performance on RE11. I use RE001(which is one grade down RE11) before changing to 19" and it was very reliable on wet ground.
If I change tire, I may change to RE001 again instead of RE11. RE11 is a bit over for my driving style.....slow!
Just checked the RE001 price from a tire shop in wanchai:
245/35R19 (front) : $2400@
275/30R19 (rear) : $2500@

why get RE001 when you can get top make for the same price.

for me when it rain I tend to stay indoors and try not to go out and drive the car.
I would say for my car only about 10% in a year I drive in rain.
too dangerous in HK when wet, no matter how good tryes or car it is, there is too many ppl will still hit you.
like the S2000 I never took it out in the rain, only a dry day.

ricky I was reading this, I think now you know why I say it feels faster than before.
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...4&postcount=77
"Tires are so important in determining vehicle performance that a heavier tire is often faster than a lighter tire when it comes to going around a track, assuming that the extra weight was added because of something performance related, like sidewall reinforcement, or a slightly wider contact patch.
To make an example: a lighter tire may cut your time to accelerate from 40 to 45 mph by 0.02 second (I made this number up). But if the heavier tire takes the corner at 45 mph, and the lighter tire only takes the corner at 40, the heavier tire is still the faster way through. Higher corner speeds matter more than miniscule variance in accel times or braking differences."

just trying to cover all angles, sometimes one needs to plan for the unexpected

when it comes to high performance cars and driving, the conventional wisdom is how early the power is applied to obtain a higher exit speed.

better dry, less wet
better wet, less dry.
if you what balance then don't bother getting the top rank stuff and just drive normal and get the mid range and save $$$
V12 is the best bet and very cheap.
