My Ride: carbonized MB coupe
Default

my last info was June, so if they announced something last week then it's true,
i think the 1 coupe looks like a real 3 series from the 80's, small and aggressive,
are you planning to buy one?

What might such a model be like?
This model will be based on the BMW 1 Series Coupé and also be focused on the essentials - the fascination of driving. And it will reflect a love of detail, too.

Will the model be called BMW M1?
We have discussed this point too. BMW M1 is a name with powerful historical associations. So we have decided to follow our second nomenclature method. In the tradition of the BMW Z4 Roadster and of the current models BMW X5 M and X6 M we will put our brand identifier at the end of the name, so our new model will be called the BMW 1 Series M Coupé.

When can we expect to receive further information?
We will be publishing more detailed information before Christmas. And we may release the odd detail beforehand. Wait and see!

Where will the information be provided?
You can register here on M-Power.com. In this way you can be sure not to miss any information on the BMW 1 Series M Coupé.

From when will the BMW 1 Series M Coupé be supplied?
You can expect the first vehicles to be with customers in the first half of 2011.

What else is in store in the near future?
There is a lot more for BMW M fans to look forward to in the second half of 2011 as well. We will be presenting the next generation of the BMW M5 with V8 turbo engine. But let's talk about the details another time.

1 series M will be a reality, soon.

It will be called 1m so u ain't wrong to say there will be no m1 in the nr furture. I felt the interview was carefully drafted to give a preview of the 1m and I thought what bollocks. The number I saw on the web is it's around 1500kg, that's much heavier than the e30 m3.

So the 1M will be only 80kg down compare to my E60
I am sure it will be a bonkers car to drive, as the 135 is already a bonker
But not sure what they going to charge?
I think anything more than 800K will be ridiculous

1 series M would be a nice deal if selling 750-800K. That would be a lovely present in 2012 I think ...

1500KG is like 200KG shaved off from a M3. Why bother to buy M3 GTS if 1 series M is coming to life?

There MUST be some other differences! Personally, i prefer the shape of M3 over 1M... bit more space too!

E46 M3 weights 1570KG but It doesn't drive like a bulk of lard. It's all about overall handling package, don't dig deep into figures.
For example, could you explain why R35 GT-R can performs like defying physics?
