If I remember correctly, the DRL should be off in my case. I have read through the menu and understand that this function should control the headlight to turn on even in daytime in auto mode.

However, I will double check the setting in idrive. If this is already off and still not working in auto mode, what next? Any good garage to recommend to fix it? Is the sensor on the windscreen has problem?

Mark

Did you try turn off the DRL and test the auto mode again?

I am not going to drive in daytime these few days, so cannot test. Hope you can test and let me know the result.

Hi Keith, as I remember, I have turned off the DRL in my baby but I should double check it. Any other possible cause of the problem?

In addition, I have changed the new tires, using BS RE001...good!

By the way, I have a friend who brought a brand new E60 in 2008 and he has the same problem with me in auto headlight. He has went to BMW service to fix it but the result is the same!!! Means no fix. Also, I see many BMW turned on headlight in daytime and I think they are facing the same problem.

Any more share?
for the day time lights just turn off the daytime light in the idrive.
you know that is funny all members 2nd hand car have the same km as you when they got there which mean it has been pushed back.
If the suspension cushion needed to be change then the car has done at lest 650k km.
my old 2004 had done 640k km from new and I dont drive it that much and did not need to change the suspension cushion.
I would check all the 6 wishbone for cracks.
it is 100% will need to change.
we all have change ours at about 500k km

That's bcos he tries to make the most of the v good warranty program. Billhk replaced a lot of the parts in his e60 for the same reason. Anyway, u hold a iPhone in ur hand, u can immediately feel the case is v solid and has little flex.
