I am not too bothered about the headunit, as I do want to keep it looking "factory" and want to be able to use i-drive to control as well as steering wheel controls.

Even when i went to those A/V shops in Mong Kok, they also said the same thing. There arent AS many options as other car brands because E60 uses small speakers.... Not the usual 6x9's or component speakers etc....

the steering controls are definitely handy and safe to use. if thats important to you, i would check how good the standard head unit is first, otherwise shit goes in, shit comes out. good speakers will only reveal the bad source more. might be just add a subwoofer to get more base.
