No,I've been told it will improve things but I don't think it's the main issue. BMW reset something for me last time and it was fixed but it only lasted 4 a while. Tried the 25 sec trick, never worked for me that well.

even though I sound quite annoyed by this, the jerky gear change isnt really that bad with day to day town driving but when I really want to push the car round bends, it could be dangerous.

although the service and parts are pricey, its much better service than Audi and MB,
i esp don't like DCH, they charge for oil changes which never happen.

actually you are right bill. I am generally very happy with the car and bmwhk service, other than this jerky gearbox problem as mentioned + wish they could get the service completed in 1 day rather than 2.
